The Alinco DR-135DX covers both the 10 Metre and 11 Metre Bands and can also be programmed to be open to the 12 Metre Band. It is equipped to be used on CW, AM, LSB & USB giving you full access to the complete range of frequencies.

Questions About The Alinco DR-135DX
Does this radio come pre-programmed?
This comes pre-programmed for the 10 meter Amateur Band. It can also be switched to CB mode by pressing button combinations on the front panel at start up. It will then cover the entire CB band. Note, it is not legal to operate this model as a CB in the UK. Also, the channels won’t quite correspond with the UK 40 FM. Additionally, a programming lead is available to make custom changes and program channels to specific requirements.

What range does this have on SSB?
Hi Ian depending on solar conditions 10 M or 11M. I used standard power which I think was 25w pep on ssb. I max 2000 antenna and made contact to State Side Brazil most of Europe. Dubi. All contacts gave good audio and signal reports back.
Is this radio ready to use in CB mode (UK) straight from the box?
No, but its so simple to unlock, to get UKFM you will need to program via computer

it certainly does although the channel numbers obviously don’t match up so you will need list of the old 27/81 & cept frequencies handy to know where you are .
If you choose to program with software available you then can put which ever frequency to what band you wish so for example band “a” could be 27/81 & band “b” could be cept.
Does this come with the required power supply for indoor use?
This comes with wires to connect to a PSU – this does not come with any separate Power supply
Would like to use for cb frequency & marine band… is this possible?
CB frequency is on this radio is approximately 25 mhz to 30 MHZ Marine frequency is vhf not hf 150 Mhz 163 Mhz so to answer your question cb ok marine no
The CRE or Alinco, love or hate them they have sold well. Myself I never got on well with either as in my opinion the now old V3.1 software should have been changed to V6, errors cured with the lambada s-meter and some other niggles that I had. Channel change loose etc and some other odds and ends made it ok, not special
But I have seen a video now where the s-meter is tamed on SSB although seems still “active” on AM and some other improvements carried out by Konektor in Poland.

And above is the SSB receive and it seems far removed from anything at all that I got on either of the radios. BUT I think now also that CRE and Alinco should talk to QX and ask them for updates now. Lincoln V3 channel change, new firmware as this is too old. Bring the radio back out wit some of the gremlins taken away.
